"bar" hade jag först översatt med "skena" men det kanske ska vara "stång". Sammanhanget är en bruksanvisning för en stansstämplingsmaskin i kapitlet Technical description i avsnittet om själva stålstrukturen:

"Steelstructure
The bridge construction (steel structure) consists of the main girder and two columns. The main girder (1) is equipped with two rails (2) bolted at the sides and is covered with screens (4). A toothed bar (3) is mounted at the bottom."

En "tandad skena" är alltså monterad på undersidan. Eller är "skena" felöversatt? I avsnittet under står så här:

"Adjustments
During the erection it is important that the following is observed:
The rail joints are to be precisely fitted to avoid the running wheel from bumping at the joints.
Toothed bars and joints are to be fitted exactly for correct meshing."

I detta avsnitt används "rail joints" som ju är "skenskarvar". Så då kanske jag skulle använda någon annan översättning för "toothed bar"?
