Composite endpoint of time to first all-cause mortality or heart failure event analyzed from randomization. All-cause mortality is defined as death from any cause; and a heart failure event is defined as symptoms and/or signs consistent with heart failure and either 1) IV HF therapy in an “out-patient” setting (including diuretics, neseritide/BNP, inotropes, etc. in a nursing home, private office, clinic, etc.); or 2) augmented HF IV or oral therapy during in-hospital stay (extending for a calendar date change).
