booties
Explanation:
The internationally used term is "booties". It originates from Alaska. Booties are NOT shoes, but more like socks, with or without a strengthening layer under the paw. The booties serve two distinctly different purposes:
- Permit finishing of race with dog suffering from worn down, or otherwise damaged, pads.
- Make possible racing with dog with sweat glands on the feet. Note: Such dogs are considered to be of very poor quality and are normally killed by serious breeders.

The internationally understood word “booties” is well understood in Sweden and would be my first choice. Other words used in Sweden are “hundsockar” and “hundskor”. Each and both of these words can cause misunderstandings as the words “hundsockar” and “hundskor” are also used for differently designed items for entirely different (veterinary) purposes.

It deserves to be noted that the word “booties” is used throughout the European Alps in German, French and Italian.

agree  Donald MacDonell-Sanderson: But the word has to be "bootee" as "bootie" and "botties" refers to "stöldgods"

Explanation:
This seems like the only possible translation, as such words as "stövlar", "kängor" etc, look out of place. If only some clever Swede in the Sled Dogs world has thought of a suitable translation for "bootees" which is very common in this connection
