Leading lines are an often used technique that guide a viewer's eye through the image to the subject or an important element of the subject. A leading line can be almost anything: perspective lines, a road, path, sidewalk, fence, river, tree line, shadows, stair rail, painted lines on an object, architectural elements, etc. Kontext: Leading lines should serve the purpose to lead into, not out of, the image, and they should lead your eye toward the main subject. These lines can be very powerful, adding depth to the image.
