Particularly for forms where space is limited, how would you translate "mailing address"? Since this could be different from home address, I don't want to use "tirahan".

usually I use to translate address or mailing address as Tirahan but as what you said you don't want to use the word 'tirahan' so I can suggest the word 'direksyon' according to http://www.foreignword.com/dictionary/Tagalog/

Explanation:
This is the idiomatic Tagalog word for address. Although everybody already knows what address means, tirahan was the usual way to ask it in Tagalog. However, if we're going to use address, I suggest that we don't change the spelling anymore, after all, the people know what it means and it just looks awkward in paper to transliterate it. If we transliterate it, it could be adres, but I'm not sure that this is going to be read as address.

Asker: Thanks for your suggestion. I would like to avoid using "tirahan" in this case, since (in the US) mailing address has a different connotation than home address.

This is more colloquial and not literal. Tirahan is correct but is limited to 'residence'. The 'direksiyon' is not very accumay not be very appropriate contextually since this could refer to 'direction' which might be the 'direction how to reach a place. Using the word 'koreo' may likewise be limiting. We often ask "saan ipapadala" or "saan ang pagpapadalhan". The suggested word is colloquial and contextually more appropriate.

Mailing adress, I think does not have any direct translation to Tagalog, like so many other English terms. In the Philippines, unlike here in the States, one's home address often, if not always, means one'e mailing address as well.
