celiac disease
diperensya sa celiac

Language variant: sakit sa celiac (ng tiyan); diperensya sa celiac(ng bituka)

Explanation:
Celiac disease is a chronic hereditary intestinal disorder which damages the intestinal mucosa. It is better to use "diperensiya" (disorder) which is more specific than the Tagalog term "sakit," which may be construed by the native speaker as "sickness," "illness", "disease", "pain" or "soreness." Reference to the term "sakit" under this category should be accented in the last syllable of the word. Unaccented "sakit" means diligence, perseverance or concern for. Thus, "diperensiya" as the equivalence for "disease" is within the context of the source term, "diperensiya sa celiac"(celiac disease).

Example sentence(s):
  • Ang diperensiya sa celiac ay isang sakit sa tiyang pabalik-balik/chronic na namamana na sumisira sa lamad o mucosa ng bituka.ENG: "Celiac disease is a chronic hereditary intestinal ailment which which damages the intestinal mucosa."

celiac disease
sakit sa bituka

Explanation:
I think it is best to retain the English term in the translation, adding a parenthetical definition in Tagalog.

My suggested definion is:
"isang sakit sa bituka na dulot ng reaksyon sa gliadin, isang klase ng protinang taglay ng trigo"
