Explanation:
One need not translate anything verbatim and has to see the context. The exact meaning of gesture is சாடை, சமிஞ்ஞை, சைகை but this will not fit here. In place of an existing grant the sorrowing family is paid a sum out of compassion. Hence we need to coin a new term.
