Tırlar Explanation: 'Tır' is the word most commonly used in Turkish for heavy duty trucks - particularly those used for international transport, originally deriving from the French 'Transportation Internationale Routiere' and the fact that such vehicles bear a plate reading 'TIR'. The 'lar' here is the plural suffix. Failing that, you could use 'kamyon/kamyonlar (pl)', the word for lorry/truck. |

Ağır vasıtalar Explanation: "Ağır vasıta" is a legal term that is used on placards for heavy/slow moving trucks on Turkish highways. "vasıta" can also be "araç" both translated into "vehicle" in English. For plural add "-lar" to either one of them. T.I.R. is commonly used as a substitution however, it is not Turkish rather an international term ('Transportation Internationale Routiere').
