"ipotek" fits in with the other definitions of "lien"including above:
right to confiscate a piece of property in place of payment for a debt (Law); A legal claim; a charge upon real or personal property for the satisfaction of some debt or duty; a right in one to control or hold and retain the property of another until some claim of the former is paid or satisfied; A security interest on property to protect the lender in the event of lessee default; a command making property a security(collateral) for ensuring the payment of a debt, mortgage, or taxes etc.
