English term or phrase: the recession is at an end
Hi,

Please see:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8217122.stm

Tureng, amongst others, has a lot of entries and I really need to know which is best.

Are there any words specifically for a recession of the financial kind or must I always put “ekonomik” in front?

All the best, and many thanks,

Simon

Per request in a comment below, I am providing the translation of "full" sentence. "ekonomik durgunluk sona eriyor". Well, I wouldn't think that any other option other than "sona eriyor" would be possible for "at an end" part anyways.

ekonomik kriz sona yaklaştı

Explanation:
Probably two mostly used terms for recession are "ekonomik kriz" and "ekonomik durgunluk". It also works when you take out "ekonomik" as well, you just need to make sure you put "ekonomik" before "kriz" or "durgunluk" at the first instance it is used in the document. Thereafter it will be fine to use just "kriz" or "durgunluk".

resesyon

Explanation:
You can use "resesyon" instead of "ekonomik durgunluk". It is a Turkish word imported from french pronunciation of recession.

resesyon sona eriyor

Explanation:
Tam çevirisi bu. Resesyon zaten ekonomik durgunluk demek, "ekonomik resesyon" demeye gerek yok.

Example sentence(s):
  • 2009, savaş sonrası Alman tarihinin en ağır resesyon yılı oldu.
