"However, this could have lead to an underestimation of COPD prevalence in the study population by a better classification based on the significant reversibility criteria into (1) mixed obstructive disease due to COPD and asthma or (2) pure asthma."

As I understand it, doing a better classification based on the reversibility criteria (by deviding the criteria into (1) mixed obstructive disease due to COPD and asthma or (2) pure asthma) could have led to an underestimation of COPD prevalence in the study population...
