English term or phrase:to dot one up
Медсестра каже пацієнтові, що лікар прийде "to dot you up". Що це має означати?
Зараз прийде лікар і вас/тебе "розмалює" до операції. I don't really feel how that sounds. It's the only thing that comes to mind. I guess it has some black humor ring to it. I'll keep thinking. That's a very good one...
I also thought dotting up has to do with marking the places for the cuts before the surgery (although it's not plastic surgery in the context). Anyway, if that's the case - how would you translate it? It needs to have an informal ring to it.
Sofia, I don't know your context, but for some reason I'm thinking of cosmetic surgeries when doctors mark the patient's skin. Also, I really doubt it's about injections, because normally doctors don't do that.
