English to Yiddish translations [Non-PRO] Art/Literary - Music / lyrics of *Bei mir bist Du schejn* | | English term or phrase: boys, men, respectively | Hi again (all other questions I posed from Yiddish to EN),
Now I know, that this is really a question for language learners, but I don't have any dictionary at hand.
I am looking for the counterpart of *meydlekh*, i.e. the lyrics a (heterosexual ;-) woman would sing.
Fil sheyne meydlekh hobn gevolt nemen mir, un fun zey ale oysgeklibn hob ikh nor dikh.
There is this nice version of the song on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUVEq6NC7mM
in which the corresponding part sounds a bit like
***ih(n) - la***
Looking very much forward to your help. |

sicher nicht die einzige Übersetzung.
Daneben gibts noch den shaygetz (das männliche Gegenstück zur schickse), der vermutlich beim mejdl oder meydlekh keine Chance (pardon, kein Massl) hat.
