muck about vs. mess around..
In my opinion "hörhöillä" deserves a more peculiar translation than mess around. Muck about/muck around are commonly used in the UK with children, e.g. in Manchester you hear it in everyday language from parents' mouths "don't muck about!" (or the synonym "stop faffing about!") and it has no negative connotations, on the contrary a "mucker" is a mate (friend) "all right, me old mucker?" :) |
