Explanation:
I wouldn't use the same translation for the two examples either.
"He participated with great enthusiasm in domestic and overseas radio amateur competitions."
But for the second example concerning the sale of properties, I would use something like "in great numbers."

I wouldn't use the same translation for the two examples either.
"He participated with great enthusiasm in domestic and overseas radio amateur competitions."

disagree  Marianna Parikka: keen does not cover the content of the word here. The Finnish word for that would be "innokas". You want something with a bit of fearlessness to it. I get where you're coming from. I hear enthusiasm as more active than keen - I get finicky with words.

disagree  Marianna Parikka: it depends on what you want to emphasise. "reipas ote" - that has a kind of attitude thing to it; "reipas tahti" would be a fast pace
