Seinänvieruspenkkiä, makuu- tai istuinlavaa merkitsevä lavitsa on lainaa venäjän murteellisesta sanasta lávica, joka on johdos sanasta láva (>lava). Se on lainattu myös useisiin lähisukukieliin. Suomen kirjakielessä lavitsa on ensi kertaa mainittu Ericus Schroderuksen sanakirjassa vuonna 1637.

Seinänvieruspenkkiä, makuu- tai istuinlavaa merkitsevä lavitsa on lainaa venäjän murteellisesta sanasta lávica, joka on johdos sanasta láva (>lava). Se on lainattu myös useisiin lähisukukieliin. Suomen kirjakielessä lavitsa on ensi kertaa mainittu Ericus Schroderuksen sanakirjassa vuonna 1637.
