Tech/Engineering - Transport / Transportation / Shipping / Laying railway tracks
Finnish term or phrase: pystygeometria
Is this vertical geometrics?

Here is the context:

Pääasiallinen syy on ................ maasto-olosuhteet, jotka joudutaan kiertämään ratalinjauksen pystygeometriavaatimusten vuoksi.

So:

The main reason is the terrain ............... , which would have to be bypassed, owing to the vertical geometric requirements of the rail track route

Does that make any sense?

thanks in advance

Vertical geometry

Explanation:
See usage in attached Wikipedia entry. This seems like pretty obvious mimicry of this English term.
