I am proofreading a document translated by an expert in the field (Dutch native - not a translator). The sentence above was translated as "Keep separate from strong bases". I'm not entirely sure what is meant with 'basen' in this context. Here is the entire paragraph:

Opslag: Gesloten verpakking bewaren op een koele en goed geventileerde plaats bewaren. Verwijderd houden van eet - en drinkwaren en van diervoeder. Gescheiden van sterke basen. Verhitting boven de omgevingstemperatuur vermijden, vorst kan het product schade toebrengen.
