peer agreement (net): +1beer paddle (stirrer) Explanation: I have no definite answer on this, so I'm just guessing. Looks to me like a sword-like object of sorts used in mixing the beer. This is typically called a beer paddle and looks like a fly-swatter on crack. But anyway, I worked as a bartender once before, and we have those little plastic stirrers that look like swords. That might be the inspiration for the term, 'cause I've never heard of this otherwise. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-10-25 21:53:06 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- by the way: a degen is a sword/dagger.... a steekdegen is like a sword-stick or sword-cane Steekdegen\'s date back as far as the Napolean era when soldiers used have this as a part of their uniforms. A sword stick/cane (according to dictionary.com) could also refer to the protective sheath that covers the sword - the thing attached at the waist into which soldiers could slip their swords when it was not in use.
