L’économie européenne ne sera en effet pas soutenue par la vigueur américaine. Cette dernière est sans doute durablement affaiblie. La réduction de l’effet de levier y est toujours à l’œuvre. L’économie américaine est en panne de création d’emplois. Le faible nombre de constructions nouvelles tarde à stabiliser le déséquilibre offre/demande dans le secteur immobilier, qui de ce fait continue de peser sur la croissance. Les propositions de relance faites par l’administration Obama deviennent déjà un enjeu de la campagne électorale qui débute dans un climat délétère. Quant à la Fed, elle ne peut encore faire appel aux hélicoptères pour le troisième épisode de « Quantitative Easing ». Mais cela pourrait ne pas tarder. Dans l’intervalle elle maintient les taux à zéro (ZIRP) et elle déplace ses avoirs en bons du Trésor sur des maturités plus longues (Twist). Mais cela aura peu d’efficacité.
Ik vraag me af wat een goede vertaling van 'ne peut encore faire appel aux hélicoptères' zou kunnen zijn? De Fed kan nog geen beroep doen op bijzondere middelen voor de derde ronde van 'Quantitative Easing'?
