Je zou het daardoor kunnen vertalen, want die uitdrukking bestaat in het Nederlands als 'in moeilijkheden verkeren'. een betje zoals een bokser die in de touwen van de ring hangt, zeg maar.
Aan de andere kant is het niet absoluut nodig van deze uitdrukking te vertalen. Je zou gewoon kunnen parafraseren met 'het haar moeilijk maken/haar het leven moeilijk maken (of zoiets) zodat ze bij werkgever X zou terugkeren.' |
