Lorsque la force centrifuge, suite à une accélération latérale trop importante, dépasse l'adhérence latérale disponible, la voiture commence à chasser de l'avant ou de l'arrière.

accelaratie langs de zijkant

Explanation:
Ik zie nu je probleem: transversaal en lateraal lijken beide 'zijdelings' te betekenen. Maar als ik het goed begrijp is er het volgende verschil:
Transversaal is loodrecht op de rijrichting.
Lateraal is in de richting van het voertuig, maar dan aan de zijkant van het voertuig. Er is hier dus sprake van dat de ene zijkant van het voertuig sneller gaat dan de andere (links sneller dan rechts of omgekeerd). Daardoor ontstaat slip (aan de voorkant of achterkant).
