French term or phrase: balances de contrôle
"une personne de votre entreprise (ou un intérimaire) se chargera de la saisie (sur un logiciel de comptabilité classique ou en mode ASP) et de l’édition des documents courants (journaux, balances de contrôle, grands livres clients ou fournisseurs…) ; un collaborateur de votre Cabinet d’expertise comptable supervisera les écritures, éditera les documents de fin d’exercice (grand livre annuel, bilan, compte de résultat, annexes)."

The bit I'm stuck on is:

"édition des documents courants (journaux, balances de contrôle, grands livres clients ou fournisseurs"

I think it means "drawing up the current accounts (journals, ____________, customer and supplier ledgers"

but I have no idea about "balances de contrôle".

I clearly need to get a bilingual dictionary of accounting terms, but my deadline is tomorrow so I won't get to book store before then!

Your help is much appreciated as always.

Thank you!

trial balance
Explanation:
Assuming "balance de contrôle" = "balance de vérification" which "Vocabulaire budgétaire, compatable et financier / Budgtary, accounting and financial vocabulary" by Terminologie Canada gives as "trial balance".

The Barron's Dict of Accounting Terms defines:

trial balance
1. listing of the account balances from the general ledger, prepared at the end of the accounting period. All accounts are listed in the order in which they appear in the ledger. Total debits must equal total credits, otherwise an error has been made. Even though the trial balance furnished arithmetical proof that debits equal credits, it does not detect all errors. For example, a posting to the wrong account may have occurred. The trial balance is a work sheet and NOT a formal financial statement. It serves as a convenient basis for the preparation of the balance sheet and income statement...
2. listing of the account balances of a subsidiary ledger (i.e. customer accounts) that must agree with the total of the control account (i.e. accounts receivable) in the general ledger.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Oh no! Now I have l'embarass du choix. I did wonder about trial balance, but my finance dico didn't translate it into balance de controle the other way round. It's a nice explanation though and it fits too.
