'avals et cautions' is essentially a doublet that you don't need to preserve in translation. They are both financial guarantees, e.g. given by A on some debt owed by B to C.
'Securities', esp. in the plural, has the two disadvantages of (1) not by itself indicating whether the reporting company gave or received the security interests, and (2) being the same word that would ordinarily be used to translate 'titres'.

If you must have a doublet, "guarantees and sureties" is what one French bank client uses. But the OED regards 'surety' in this sense as obsolete. :-) |
