French to English translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Accounting
French term or phrase:Etat, remboursement convention sociale
This is an item on a company's financial statement. It's listed under "Detail des produits a recevoir", but I really can't work out what it means: can anyone shed any light on this for me please?
In that case, think government assistance on early retirement and health benefits for workers downsized out of a job. The 'convention' is the agreement between the govt and the steel company(ies), and the subject is 'sociale', i.e., labour welfare.
What kind of company? Does it own residential rental property in France? One kind of convention sociale provided for in the Building & Housing Code gives a big tax break to landlords who let at below-market rents. This could be a related tax refund.

Reimbursement of social contributions
Explanation: Could it refer to the reimbursement of social contributions by the government? Say that the company had overpaid and that the government owed it a refund, would that make sense?
