Bus/Financial - Accounting
French term or phrase: repris en résultat
Les titres des filiales non significatives sont classés en tant qu'actifs non courants et sont comptabilisés à leur juste valeur : les gains ou pertes résultant de cette évaluation sont repris en résultat.

Shares in non-significant subsidiaries are classified as non-current assets and recognised at fair market value; any gains or losses arising from such appraisal are "taken into consideration in the income statement"?

It's the "repris en résultat" that gets me stumped.

are reported in the income statement
Explanation:
as the first part of the sentence is related to the balance sheet

in your sentence, after the ";", I would change "gains or losses" by "appreciation or depreciation"

also "appraisal" could be replaced by "valuation"

are figured into (the) total earnings/income

Explanation:
Hello,

repris = réutilisé/transféré vers

en résultat = into total earnings/income

"Repris" (reprendre) can be difficult to translate into English (more an all-purpose word in French that calls for a more specific word in English, depending on context)

repris en (here) = (re)-used in

I hope this helps.

So the idea, imho, is just that these gains and losses will be figured into the total income/revenue.

taken to income

Explanation:
The equivalently concise, not to say cryptic, expression in English. It means the gains/losses go into/onto the income statement, just as Hugo says.

Very common -- ~135k Ghits for the exact phrase.
