French term or phrase: suspens informatique
This is a term that has shown up several times in a procedure manual for a risk management company.

Some of the sentences it appears in:

2. L’actif net figurant sur la valeur liquidative doit être le même que celui calculé à partir de la balance générale comptable, ceci permet de détecter les éventuelles anomalies de traitement ou suspens informatiques ;
3. Chaque écart ou suspens informatique doit faire l’objet d’un écrit au Responsable du Département Opérations avec copie au RPC ;
--
 Classement des éventuels suspens informatiques ainsi que les régularisations correspondantes.

I asked the client what it meant, and this was the response:

Suspens informatique est une écriture comptable générée en cas d’erreur d’affectation dans un compte de la comptabilité générale.

So I have a general idea what it means, but I don't know what the term is in English. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

IT processing on hold
Explanation:
This is what I saw in translations of Enterprise accounting or ERP implementations, the posting is made to a specific account and remains in the state "on hold" until moved to a final account where the posting is made for good.

suspense items on the system

Explanation:
A suspense item is an accounting entry which is identified as apparently incorrect - for example, it has been posted to the wrong account. It's placed in a suspense account until it's dealt with, probably manually. You could possibly leave out the translation of "informatique" if it's obvious from the context that computer accounting systems are involved.

Example sentence(s):
  • Correcting Suspense Items Using an Online Journal Entry
