Bus/Financial - Accounting / accounting process description
French term or phrase: projet d'écriture comptable
Le responsable revoit le projet d’écriture comptable de paie transmis par XXX en recalculant arithmétiquement sous Excel le brut fiscal et les charges sociales et fiscales à partir des rubriques des journaux de paie.

Is the 'projet' really a 'project' or rather a 'draft' or 'preliminary version'? Is there a special accounting term for it?

So far I have:

The head of payroll reviews the payroll accounting record project transmitted by XXX by arithmetically recalculating the gross tax salary and the social and tax contribution in Excel, based on the payroll account book sections

Explanation:
So the lads (usually a highly competent salaries clerk) have done their good work and now their department manager needs to sign it off. So he reworks the calcs on Excel, because he is a dinosaur, and signs it off for entry.

disagree  Rob Grayson: An "écriture" is an entry. A note to the accounts is something entirely different.

Explanation:
Or "journal entry." I'm not sure how to parse this, but that's what it sounds like from the context. But I could be wrong (happens a lot).

But it that works, then perhaps "projet d'écriture comptable de paie" is "payroll journal entry."

Or, in order not to drop "projet": proposed journal entry.

Asker: Thank you, I especially like the 'proposed', since the word 'projet' is my main concern

-> Why: perhaps redundant with "transmis." But I might consider "proposed journal entry" – if one must.

neutral  Rob Grayson: Agree with writeaway. You can't just ignore "projet" – I see no reason why the inclusion of "transmis" makes it redundant. It's a proposed journal entry. // Your note still makes it sound as though "proposed" is optional...
