French term or phrase:cravate
This is an item within a list of products offered by a design agency. It's just a word on its own with no context. I have asked the client for further explanation, and they gave me this:
c’est une expression technique d’un matériel de promotion utilisé qui ressemble à une cravate.
In my opinion it doesn't actually mean a cardboard cut-out of a tie. It's some kind of long, strip-shaped promotional material. Any ideas? Thanks.
Explanation: The name of the page on the first ref is clip strip and there are plenty of hits for that term. The second ref shows more of a "hook-on" or "hanger" affair.
Could they just be talking about a "tie-in"? To make a "tie-in" in advertising means something that relates, or connects especially in a promotional campaign? Leaving it wide open as to what the agency intends to do "related" to the initial product.
