French term or phrase:un fabuleux vivier d'imagination
Hi
This question may get squashed for being over the word limit but I shall try as I am banging my head on the desk in an attempt to find a translation that doesn't sound totally ridiculous!
The sentence refers to the Cinna furniture brand. It crops up all over the web and resurfaces in the "cut and paste" texts I'm working on about furniture design.
Here it is, the closing sentence of a paragraph and unconnected to the preceding sentence:
"Un fabuleux vivier d'imagination, de créativité et d'émotions, un concentré de richesse intérieure."
A loose translation seems to be the way to go. I presume "intérieure" is referring to interiors/homes.
Explanation: I think you have to move away from the vivier idea as a breeding ground, because I don't think it works here.
Even just source or resource might work, but I think wellspring would go with the rest of the list. As I understand it they are saying it is a place where you can get some fantastic ideas for your interiors. You may want to go that way with it:
A fabulous source of creative ideas...
and perhaps drop some of the OTT emotions bit.

Yes, I would have thought "a fabulous source of creative ideas and inspiration" would pretty much cover it and not sound too weird.
I'm presuming that the reference to "richesse intérieure" is a play on words - intérieure as in "inner" but also as in a person's interior, their home, given that this is a furniture brand.
I suppose it might also be a play on words, but it is definitely talking about people's interiors, inner "riches".

Thank you very much!

Asker: Thanks Gilla. Indeed, while a bit of an "interiors addict" myself, I don't often well up over sofas ;-) Perhaps "inspiration" could stand in for émotions?
