“des grilles peuvent être disposes sur les entrées d’air afin de prévenir toute entrée de coprs étrangers solides dans les caissons” this is about the inflatable compartments on a paraglider

Depending on what these "grilles" actually are. If they are fabric, as I strongly suspect because of the word "caisson", which is a parachute term, then "mesh(ing)" it is.

Explanation:
"this is a question for the wing designers - why is there no mesh on the air inlets of the wing? it would keep all the junk out - bugs, stones, grass and so on, and I don't think it would impede the inflation or deflation of the wing at all - am I missing something?
Or is it just tradition? It would probably add a bit of structural integrity as well...
Does anyone know? I frequently have to fight with locusts deciding to jump inside my wing and then getting lost around there, I had fist-sized stones in, I heard stories involving mobile phone"
