Your own text is a good example of the distinction between PF and PIC.
The commandant de bord (captain, presumably the PIC, i.e. the pilot responsible for the flight as a whole) is stated here to be the PNF. In other words, although he bears responsibility for the flight, he is not actually flying the plane at this given moment.
The PF, on the other hand, is the pilot who is in charge of the controls at the specific given moment, i.e. the "passage du point X", but is not necessarily the pilot in command (PIC). The PF happens to be flying the plane for this particular leg of the flight, but he is doing so under the command of the PIC. |
