I wonder if "inclinaison" translates "bank angle" here.

Thanks for your help.

inclination
Explanation:
The only reason I suggest "inclination" as opposed to the perfectly correct and equivalent bank or roll angle is that it is in parentheses, which seems to imply that the author has some doubt that the reader may be familiar with aeronautical terminology. If the reader was a physicist or mathematician, for example, then "inclination" would be immediately understood, though pedants that they are, they would probably ask "in what reference frame?".

Asker: Thanks, Chris, for the additional information. I had found "inclination", but was not sure it could be used here. Aeronautical terminology is so intricate!

agree  SJLD: good point - inclinaison is given in parentheses as an explanation of (angle de) roulis - always good to take the whole text into consideration (and readership)

I am a pilot and we have never used the term inclination in English and very seldom in French. I am not saying it is wrong, just that it is not a commonly used flying term and it may be misleading.

Asker: thanks!
