Science - Agriculture / Food production/farming... | | French term or phrase: dépulpage | This word appears in an article about making shea butter (from the fruit of shea trees). It is talking about picking the fruit and then using it to make oil. This sentence appears after instructions on collecting the fruit:
'Après dépulpage, cuire les noix à l'eau bouillante...'
Before this sentence fruit is being referred to, but from here, fruit is no longer mentioned and 'noix' or 'amandes' is used.
Is dépulpage the process of removing the nut/kernel from the fruit? If so, is there a good term to use for this? If not, waht does it mean?!!
