companion planting
Explanation:
companion planting to field crops

A commensal organism by definition is neither a parasite nor a symbiont, it just finds an ideal habitat on another organism, but without harming or benefitting its host, I believe that is what is being referred to here, trees planted for some purpose (wood, fruit, etc) obviously for the benefit of the farmer but that are compatible with the other field crops that are being grown.
