There is no mention of this anneau in the previous 45 pages of the document and "anneau évidé" only has 10 hits on Google...

My very answer has a hollow ring to it since I have no substantiation whatsoever, and particularly since I would have thought a ring was, by definition, hollow, so pleonasm.
Maybe it's meant to refer to a "band" type ring, like a flat bracelet, as opposed to a "round" ring, like a rubber o-ring. I can just seem them taking a sample of ground beef using such a calibrated ring (25 g), in the same way as one cuts out biscuits with "biscuit ring" or "cookie cutter". If they really wanted to have fun they could make ground-beef gingerbread-man shapes!
That would have the Salmonella running, running, as fast as they can, maybe. |
