Explanation:
I think JB has basically got it right, although her answer is a bit long to read all the way through without settling down with a good bottle of something. I am just offering a simple, if non-literal, way to express it.

having the effect of making calls on the market

Explanation:
appel sur le marché usually has an idea of naking a call on the market in the sense of asking for tenders.

I understood it in the sense of them being able to make cooperative tenders.

Explanation:
taking a guess and I apologise for the long para I found!:

Based on the above - which I understand to mean the demand for female worker on the market I'd opt for :

'with the impact of its demand on the market'

other examples of it:

I'm wondering though if the 'effet' isn't 'creating a demand' or 'resulting in a demand'....

Explanation:
I feel sure this is in the same vein as an 'offre d'appel' > 'introductory offer', etc., though I can't unfortunately suggest a translation.

I would understand it as being the stimulating effect of the launch of a new company on the market — though you've not made it clear in the context what the relationship of this company is to the farmers — i.e. is it going to increase demand for their products (as input materials for its activities), and hence push prices upwards; or is it going to be producing products competing with the farmers (which would however presumably tend to have the opposite effect, of overloading the market and driving prices downwards)?

Now we have the complete source text in FR, I think the sense of 'appel' here is indeed rather like that of an 'appel d'air' etc. — the arrival of this big customer has created something of a 'vacuum', leading to demand outstripping supply, and hence, a degree of price increase, or at least, maintenance.

neutral  Richard Benham: My initial reaction, which has only been confirmed by the additional information, was that it was something like "by increasing market demand"...or something. I might just post that.
