French term or phrase: fonction des paramètres directs et indirects
Hello everyone,
I've got difficulties in translating the following sentence (in fact, the expression "fonction des paramètres directs et indirects" is problematic). The text is about predicted crop.

"Les rendements sont fonction des paramètres directs et indirects aptes à assurer une récolte de haut standard."

Reference: Translation or understanding?

Reference information:
Was the problem one of translation or understanding? I imagine things like rainfall, sunshine, and insect infestation would qualify as direct parameters. Something like a fire in the implement shed that destroyed the combine harvester, or filters that were not cleaned and set fire to the combine might count as indirect parameters, in that the crop was there, but could not be harvested before that summer storm ...

agree  writeaway: since the question closed once a translation was given, I suppose the translation was the problem. Translating between 2 foreign languages presents a set of problems not found when translating between a native and a source language/agree 100%.

-> Agreed. Still, I'm sure you are not surprised at the number of people who "translate" without coming even close to understanding what they or the source are saying ...
