Following PRen's comment, I checked the dictionary. Though I am not sure, it looks as though because "nutrients" are the nourishing substances and "nutrition/nutritional" are about the intake and assimilation of nutrients, the nutritional quality of the soil should include both the nutrients in the soil and anything that makes them more easily assimilable by plants, not just the nutrients themselves.

I suggest you check with your agronomist.

  -> That's a very good point and does make sense. More UK ghits for "nutritional" and more international ones for "nutrient".
