French term or phrase:intervention
On a form for applicants to purchase land allocated by a SAFER organisation, there are just a couple of references to "intervention" where I don't quite see specifically what they're referring to. In a section entitled "Nature de la candidature", where a few details such as "Assujettissement TVA", "Mode de faire-valoir", "Destination du fonds" are asked for, there's a space marked "Nature de l'intervention". I'm not clear what specifically they're referring to-- and if they mean something like "Type of purchase", "Type of request/application", then what the options/types would be. The title for the applicant's general details (name etc) is also entitled "Candidat - intervenant". These are the only mentions of "Intervention/Intervenant" that I can see. Has anyone come across this before in this context? Any pointers appreciated!
Though it's not very clearly worded, it sems that this has to do with the nature of the application in terms of whether it is a "straightforward" application to purchase or in opposition to another purchase (somebody exercising a right to first refusal). Thanks for everybody's input!
I've been looking at the forms for other SAFERs, e.g. this one http://www.safer-franchecomte.com/documents/Fiche_candidatur... and they have a question about whether you're buying the land for "agradissement", "installation", "remaniement parcellaire", "Maintien en place" or "Autre". I'm thinking that could be what it's referring to.
It was subject to SAFER needs for local young farmers. So the "Nature d'intervention" undoubtedly relates to the sort of farming that is envisaged. "Type of farming operation" perhaps
Yes it's a SAFER organisation as in www.safer.fr. Esentially what happens is that the SAFER has first refusal to any agricultural property sold in the area which, if it purchases it, then sells on to other farmers who apply to purhcase it. The land essentially gets sold to the applicant who makes the "best case": the application includes details such as experience/training, nature of any existing farm they run. Then there's just this small section near the start entitled "Nature de la candidature". It only contains a few items: "Nature de la candidature", "Contrat type", "Assujettissement TVA", "Destination du fonds" [as in the category of land use as I understand], "Mode de faire-valoir" [Type of tenure] and then "Nature de l'intervention" and finally the name of the buyer's notaire. That's all there is in this section.
I think this question would be very much easier if we could see the form. Is it online anywhere? I'm not clear what SAFER is or why it's selling this land, or who to.
Thanks both for your feedback. I think "Type of action" is plausible, it would just be reassuring to know what kind of answer they're actually expecting (the space is half a page width, i.e. no great explanation appears to be required).
Tony, I wondered about that, but I think for "type of agricultural work", I would have expected the word to be "exploitation", whereas as you say, "intervention" applies a "special" course of action to the normal course of events like indeed repairing your car/computer. If you don't mind, I may take you up on your offer to check with your contact-- I may message you privately in a little while if that's OK!
It's difficult to say without seeing the form, but possibly they want to know what the buyer intends to do with the land, or how they're going to go about putting their intentions into practice - type of action in that case? As for "intervenant", it could be referring to someone acting on behalf of the actual buyer. .
