French to English translations [PRO]
Agriculture / Production of biofuel
French term or phrase: trous par endroit
The planting of miscanthus grass went wrong and the yield was not as expected. When some agriculturalists inspected the crop 3 months after planting they found:

une reprise d'une moyenne de 6000 rhizomes par ha sur le solde de 22 ha avec des trous par endroit (alors que XXX a promis 80% de reprise moyenne)

I am assuming "trous" to mean the planting holes, but "par endroit" has got me confused

English translation:'holes' in places
Explanation:
No, not "planting holes" but "holes" or "gaps" where for some reason there were no plants (either because none were planted, because the plants in those places died (contaminated soil, for instance), or because elephants ate them).

It should really be par endroits with an S, I feel.

Elephants is what the miscanthus is for, surely!

Des p'tits trous, des p'tits trous, toujours des p'tits trous ... .

Presumably the hole in the crop is a damp patch in the floor of the depression. 1.0 km. Tullymacnous Road Just off the A22 north of Killyleagh. ...
