French to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Agriculture / Cereal dryers
French term or phrase: dièdre
There is an entry in the glossary translating this as "dihedral" - a word I have never heard before. Is it in fact used in this context?

Writ of summons issued by one company on another, claiming that there were problems with the cereal dryer it had purchased.

TIA for any help.

Here I'd reckon "dièdres aciers" means "steel ducting".

"dihedral steelwork" seems a safe bet.

steel dihedra

Explanation:
The plural isn't "dihedrons".

In climbing, it probably appears as "dihedrals" which isn't strictly speaking correct. Here "dièdre" is being used metaphorically to refer to something that looks like one.

Now that I've actually thought about this (as opposed to just the grammar of the word) I'd translate as fissure/crack.

Alpinisme: Passage de rocher constitué de deux plans, généralement sans prises, formant un angle obtus dont le fond est parcouru par une fissure qui permet l'escalade.

agree  Gabrielle Leyden: try a book on metallurgy - (dihedra in the steel's structure?) - you don't find everything on Google!
