agree  Jim Tucker: This is a good description if one has to use the English; another option would be "tabatiere breechloading rifle"; these were all converted muzzle-loaders. Reference in discussion above.

neutral  Jim Tucker: After a little research, I think that while the T is a breechloader, b. is a large category; asker may want "tabatière-style breechloading rifles" (i.e., very few b.s have the hinged compartment).//Your wiki says the t is "a b-l rifle", but not a synonym
