Explanation:
If you have relatively few frames and large expanses of glass, you don't have too many joints that need sealing (glazing joints aside). However, if you have smaller panes of glass and a lot of structural elements holding those panes in place, you need more sealing compound (between frames, between frames and concrete, etc.).
