Which are the frames upon which the building is structured.As in the house I have built here with 5 fermes.
Might it be that it "repeated" the structure?

This might help you especially in relation to the following sentence you gave us. It is likely that "en quiconce" after "fermes" is somehow understood and implied within the context. Therefore what seems to be doubled is the support of battens as suggested by fourth in the above discussion.
