French term or phrase: "piquez le crochet dans le cercle et faites 6 m serrées du cercle"
Here's the context:

"Cercle au crochet
1ez tour : Faites 6 mailles en l’air, fermez en cercle en piquant le crochet dans la 1ère maille. Faites 2 mailles en l’air, piquez le crochet dans le cercle et faites 6 m serrées du cercle ["du cercle" is underlined], en glissant le fil coupé à l’intérieur des fils crochetés. Fermez le cercle en piquant dans la 2ème maille en l’air. Tirez le fil coupé pour rétrécir le cercle."

Frankly, I think I need an explanation more than anything. Does anyone know how the part "faite 6 m serrées du cercle" works grammatically?! And can anyone confirm that "m" here is an abbreviation for "mailles" rather than meters (I can't imagine it being the latter, but still...)? Thanks so much.

The maille serré is the single crochet stitch. So once you've closed the circle, you work the 6 single crochets inside the circle, not through the slip stitches (mailles en l'air).

m is definitely mailles.

The maille serré is the single crochet stitch. So once you've closed the circle, you work the 6 single crochets inside the circle, not through the slip stitches (mailles en l'air).
