neutral  David Vaughn: Thrill is a cheap emotion. I would expect a jewelry designer who talks of "fleur de cœur, à fleur de peau" to be aiming more at subtlety, and less at thrilling flash. Thrills are for roller coasters and motorcycles, or big tasteless diamonds.

-> I don't see anything subtle about the expressions 'a fleur de cœur, à fleur de peau' nor in the whole thrust of the text. And thrills are not just cheap emotions; there are many different uses of the word thrill.
