Any bright ideas for a natural translation of this?

Or maybe a visitor center.

A visitor center at a specific attraction or place of interest, such as a landmark, national park, national forest, or state park, providing information (such as trail maps, and about camp sites, staff contact, restrooms, etc.) and in-depth educational exhibits and artifact displays (for example, about natural or cultural history). Often a film or other media display is used. If the site has permit requirements or guided tours, the visitor center is often the place where these are coordinated.

neutral  Marie Martin: you're welcome! However, I don't think "centre d'interpretation" is a visitor center, it's where you get the information about the site you are going to visit, as the interpretation center is a tourist attraction that you visit like a museum
1 hr
-> "where you get the information about the site you are going to visit" – Yup, that's what the visitor center is. But I suppose you might be right. Still, there's lots of educational material at visitor centers.

neutral  Melissa McMahon: I think Marie was saying that while a vistor center is where you get info for the site you are visitng, the interpretation center is the destination itself.
6 hrs
-> Yes, I think that Marie is saying that, but sometimes the destination itself is a park or a monument or a historical site (no "center" involved), and the educational stuff is in a visitor center.

agree  philgoddard: "Visitor center" avoids the quandary of where to put the apostrophe.

-> Thank you. ( And you're right about the apostrophe. Thanks again :-) )

exhibit venue, exhibit space

Explanation:
I'm also agreeing with Marie, because it seems that in Canada, "interpretive centre" is in fact the usual translation for this term. If you're looking for something that doesn't sound like a calque, then perhaps "exhibit venue" would work? "Exhibit space" certainly sounds more natural, but it's not as clear that it's he actual building (or whatever) rather than just a smaller area inside it.
