Can't find any other meaning for it anyway...Although in Fr it should be spelled with one 'n'. A 'stable' for the work of art. Maybe it's a sculpture/painting of a horse? Very sophisticated word to be using in the circumstances...

neutral  Tony M: I suspect it is possibly more likely to be related to the EN 'arras', a kind of drapery or wall-hanging... note that the EN word can mean 'a kind of screen of this [tapestry] material hanging round a room'
