There are several different kinds of chimeras (e.g., aggregation chimeras, hedterologous chimeras, mericlinal chimeras, periclinal chimeras, and radiation chimeras). The name, of course, is derived from the classical fire-breathing monster of mythology, with its lion's head, goat's body, and serpent's tail...
